Bronfenbrenner's Bioecological Model of Human Development

The Mesosystem is the interaction between two or more microsystems, such as parents and peers.

Maxine's Personal Support Worker is positively impacting Maxine's family. The consistency and help around the house has certainly made life easier for Linda. Maxine is getting better at staying at the dinner table during meals, which makes it easier for Linda to make it to work on time. Nonetheless, Linda's mood swings are still unpredictable. One day after work, Linda was breastfeeding Tony, Maxine's younger brother, and happily chatting with Ann. After being unsupervised for just a minute, Maxine comes over to Linda and Tony with a cup of water she has been drinking. She sees her mother feeding Tony and tries to help her mother by trying to share her water with Tony. Maxine ends up pouring the cup of water all over Tony and Linda. Linda, surprised and drenched, reacts angrily by shoving Maxine. Maxine falls down and hits her head on the corner of the coffee table and begins to cry loudly.

As Maxine's case worker, which intervention would you suggest:

Finding time for Ann and Linda to work together to create a safety plan in order to avoid and safely manage incidents like the one described above.

Signing Linda up for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help manage her Bipolar II disorder.
